Dougie’s work with the body started with his experience as a dancer, and continued when he began his work as a teacher and choreographer. After suffering a lower back injury, Dougie struggled through chronic pain for nearly two years before finding Pilates. Through Pilates, Dougie found the only long term solution to his back problems. Eager to learn more, and share the benefits of Pilates with others Dougie was drawn to complete his Pilates cert at the Equinox Pilates Institute.
Dougie was introduced to FLEX through his partner and fellow FLEXpert, Tim Eidman. The low impact, total body workout on the FlexFormer was perfect for mainting a healthy dancing body.
Outside of his FLEX classes, Dougie is still actively choreographing and teaching with his own dance company here in New York, DPRdance. He recently traveled to Taiwan, teaching the talented and wonderful students in Taipei about musical theater and theater dance.
